Love it. Think I’ll use ROR in my next presentation to upper management. 😉 I wholeheartedly agree that it’s about “doing something to create value that can lead to financial results in the future.” Increasing brand awareness across various SoMe channel does have its place, but yes, at the end of the day, should be tied to moving the needle. Thanks for sharing my blog post, Ted. In fact, I very much believe in using traditional metrics to evaluate new media. We tend to get excited with the “new” and forget the basics–and the balanced scorecard will (I hope) encourage a return to those marketing basics. In the end, we’re still doing the old-fashioned thing in marketing: Building relationships and brands!
